Build with BlackIQ

Co-Founder, Regulatory & Financial Operations

Help bring BlackIQ to people in Switzerland, the EU and the United States by leading our regulatory work, financial operations and market partnerships.

Join us as a co-founder and help turn our vision into a business people can trust. You'll work with specialist advisers, partners and our product team to understand where we can operate, secure the right permissions and build the financial and governance practices to grow responsibly.

Responsibilities

What we'll build together

  • Help us decide which services we can offer, from research and simulation to trading, custody and portfolio management, and which need a licence or regulated partner.

  • Shape our Swiss path with specialist counsel. Assess FINMA authorisation, SRO/GwG obligations and relevant FINIG/FIDLEG, AML/KYC and custody requirements, then guide the applications and documentation.

  • Develop our EU plans around each service and country: MiCAR/CASP where relevant, MiFID II for financial instruments, and the right national authorities and partners, including BaFin where applicable.

  • Work with U.S. counsel to assess SEC/FINRA, CFTC/NFA, FinCEN/BSA, state licensing and OFAC requirements for each activity and asset. Find the appropriate registration, exemption or regulated-partner path.

  • Turn compliance into everyday practice: customer checks, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, risk controls and clear reporting that fit the services we offer.

  • Build relationships with advisers, authorities, banks and payment, custody and trading partners. Bring people together to prepare each new market.

  • Work with the founders on company governance, financial planning, regulatory budgets and board and investor reporting, with clear ownership of decisions as we grow.

Impact

The difference you'll make

  • You'll help turn a promising product into services we can responsibly bring to market.

  • Your judgement will shape how we protect customers, manage trading permissions and earn trust in each country.

  • As a co-founder, you'll help set the direction of BlackIQ and build the partnerships that make our next chapter possible.

Profile

What you'll bring

  • Practical experience in financial regulation, law or compliance, ideally in financial services, fintech, brokerage or digital assets.

  • Experience guiding licensing or partnership projects with specialist counsel, and understanding how trading, custody and portfolio services differ.

  • A working understanding of Swiss, EU and U.S. financial regulation. Experience with authorities such as FINMA, BaFin, SEC, CFTC or FinCEN is welcome; you don't need a background with every one.

  • Sound judgement on customer checks, sanctions, risk and governance, alongside the ability to build lasting commercial relationships.

  • A founder's sense of responsibility, discretion and willingness to work through difficult questions with product and engineering colleagues.

  • Regulator experience and a law degree are welcome advantages, not requirements. Show us the expertise, integrity and commitment you would bring.
